The True Story of Roadkill Skunk: Heime Cheeba's Lifelong Mission
1970s – Mendocino Origins
In the misty communes of Albion, Mendocino, California, a pungent, roadkill-funk strain emerges among hippie growers. Known simply as "Roadkill" for its dead-skunk-in-the-road aroma of burnt rubber, piss, and garlic.
1981 – Heime Cheeba Acquires the Cut
James "Heime Cheeba" Schenk, a biker-breeder from Ketchikan, Alaska, receives the clone from a hippie couple. Known as "Dirty Jim," he recognizes its potency and begins preserving it amid the War on Drugs.
1980s–1990s – Alaska Preservation
Heime relocates the cut to Alaska, open-pollinating and stabilizing it. The "Skunk" name is added in the 1990s. Its stench busts growers, but Heime protects the line through 40+ years of underground breeding.
2010s – Alaska Cannabis Cache
Heime founds the Alaska Cannabis Cache, releasing limited seeds of Roadkill Skunk and other 70s/80s heirlooms. He shares with breeders like Strayfox Gardenz, ensuring the funk lives on.
Heime's Legacy2022 – Tragic Passing
